For more than 50 years, igus has strived to create unique, cost-saving solutions for customers application challenges. This year, two new products are the recipient of the coveted Red Dot Award, “established internationally as one of the most sought-after quality marks for good design” (red-dot.de)

This year, more than 5,500 product submissions from cars to cameras were reviewed by a jury of 39 international and recognized product design experts, with two of the 200 awards going to igus cable carrier systems.

Compact rotary system allows 360º rotation in extremely tight spaces

The CRM (compact rotation module) allows for high levels of rotation in applications with minimal space. The CRM system can be used to provide power, data, and media without interruption, increasing machine reliability and avoiding unplanned downtime. The ready-to-install module is extremely simple to plug-and-play, and an integrated position indicator measures the angle at which the module is rotated at any given time.

Hygienic cable carrier for sensitive applications

The TH3 energy chain system is the world’s first plastic cable carrier developed according to the EHEDG’s “Hygienic Design Guidelines” and FDA regulations. The carrier’s open design allows for easy cleaning, while rounded corners and lack of threaded connections eliminate potential spaces for germs can remain. The blue plastic material is highly resistant to cleaning agents and chemicals, allowing for extensive service life and reliability in harsh washdown applications.
